    • 10cm ( 1/8yd) cream floral print fabric (bottom border)

    • 25cm ( 3/8yd) red tone-on-tone fabric (frill and handle)

    • 30cm ( 3/8yd) blue floral print fabric (base and top)

    • 70cm ( 7/8yd) calico (lining)

    • 25cm ( 3/8yd) lightweight fusible batting such as Pellon

    • 15cm ( 1/4yd) medium-weight fusible interfacing

    • DMC Stranded Embroidery Cotton in Medium Blue (826)

    • Embroidery hoop (optional)

    • 60cm (24in) white zipper

    • 15mm ( 5/8in) gold split ring with a small charm (zipper pull)

    • 25 x 40cm (10 x 16in) thick cardboard

    Ironing-board cover

    • 1.2m (1 3/8yd) blue floral print fabric (cover)

    • 60cm ( 5/8yd) red tone-on-tone print fabric (patchwork and border)

    • 10cm ( 1/8yd) cream spot print fabric (patchwork)

    • 10cm ( 1/8yd) light blue tone-on-tone fabric (patchwork)

    • 10cm ( 1/8yd) cream floral print fabric (patchwork)

    • 1.6m (1 3/4yd) blue stripe print fabric (lining)

    • 1.6m (1 3/4yd) calico (lining)

    • 1.6m (1 3/4yd) insulating batting such as Insul-Bright – see Note

    • 2.6m (2 7/8yd) of 25mm (1in) wide elastic

    • Bodkin or safety pin

    • DMC Stranded Embroidery Cotton in Rose (335), Light Tan (437), Light Cranberry (604), Light Pale Yellow (745), Dark Khaki Green (3011), Medium Khaki Green (3012) and Dark Raspberry (3831)

    • Embroidery needle

    • Template plastic and permanent marking pen

    • Water-erasable fabric-marking pen

    • Rotary cutter, ruler and mat

    • Sewing machine with 1/4in foot and zipper foot

    • General sewing supplies

    Stitches used: Backstitch, detached chain (lazy daisy) stitch, French knot, primitive running stitch
