THE PIONEER WOMEN

With only 10 years old, little Taylor girl has already decided what she wants to be. She wants to pilot cargo aircrafts. In the last edition of EAA Air Venture, in Oshkosh, the print of the t-shirt of the young American made this quite clear: a DNA composed by a chain of aircrafts. In spite of her short life time, Taylor became the first girl to be selected by the UPS Wishes Delivered Project, of the UPS air transport company where his father works as aeronautical mechanic. She visited the company’s installations and made true the dream of sitting in the cockpit of a cargo jet.

Born in the little community of Louisville, in the interior of the United States, Taylor already showed in the first plays her passion for aviation. And she faced the resistance of colleagues of the same generation. “After all, to be a pilot is boys’ business, girls should be air stewardesses if they want to join aviation”, many parents thought at that time. But none of this intimidated the little girl: “Aircrafts have no preference for men or women at command, provided they are well piloted”, said the girl.
