A 20t brake van in ‘O’

AN extremely useful addition to Dapol’s growing range of ‘O’ Gauge models is the BR standard 20t brake van, a vehicle that is all but extinct on the UK rail network today.

Once an important part of the railway freight scene, the introduction of continuous air brakes allied to the rationalisation of freight operations has all but rendered the humble brake van obsolete, with those brake vans surviving into privatisation being restricted to special moves.
