Scotsman tour and Class 90 naming to honour Sir William McAlpine
SIR William McAlpine, who passed away earlier this year, was renowned throughout the railway movement for his involvement, encouragement and patronage of back from America in 1973, when hopes were fading for its future after owner Alan Pegler ran into financial difficulties.
