Great Western HST power cars

ALL but 24 HST power cars and their associated Mk.3 trailers have been released by First Great Western for store or reallocation following the introduction of Class 800 and Class 802 multiple units on long distance intercity services originating from London Paddington between late 2017 to May 2019.

West Country services originating from Plymouth and Penzance were the last to be replaced with Class 802 units in May 2019, bringing an end to HST domination of Great Western long distance trains. However, they are not so easily dislodged and will continue in the West Country
