The new 7th hole at Royal Portrush is one that players will remember from The 148th Open Championship – it’s a beautiful par 5 that carves through the dunes on the Dunluce links. However, it will be memorable in more ways than one for David Duval. Duval had started brightly in round one and was two-under through four holes before encountering some problems on the 5th and recording an eight there.
However, his troubles were then truly compounded on the 7th hole when he racked up a 14 on his way to an opening-round 91. So, what exactly happened on that 7th hole?
