dreams of space started when he was only six years old. It was 1969. Like millions of people all over the world, he sat glued to his family’s TV. The world held its breath watching the first man walk on the moon. Mike was thrilled! Other kids might have wanted to be Spider-Man or Superman, but young Mike wanted to be Spaceman. His mom made him his own “space suit.” She cut the tail off an old elephant costume, fashioned some medals and badges, and added a helmet. Mike put it on every chance he got, grabbed his Space Snoopy toy, and space with him.)
