JAMES WHITAKER produced the winning round in the AW Jenkinson 1.40m national winter classic grand prix. Riding Keith and Ellen Lutener’s Caloro EX Z (Rolo), the Yorkshire rider set an unbeatable target in the nine-strong jump-off.

“With Keith Shore coming after me, I didn’t think we were fast enough, but Rolo has a huge stride. He turns well and proved deceptively quick, even for me,” said James, who had lamented earlier that he wasn’t having the best show.
