HATS OFF TO ANNELI

THANK you for the wonderful article on the remarkable lady that is Anneli Drummond-Hay (2 January). Growing up as a horsey-mad little girl in a non-horsey family in the late 1950s and early 1960s, Anneli and Merely-A-Monarch were my favourites and I collected all I could about them.

I had to wait 40 years before I bought my first pony, but I never forgot Anneli, so to see her looking well and still riding made my New Year. She is still my heroine.
