We’re often told to ditch shiny make-up as we age because it draws attention to loose skin and an uneven lash line. This isn’t strictly true. While frosted shadows and chunky glitter are no longer your friends (honestly, they never were), a wash of metallic bronze or gunmetal can be very flattering. Creams work best on less-than-firm lids, giving a diffused glow without settling into lines. Powders look similarly soft focus if they’re finely milled enough, which you can check by rubbing it on, and apply it like an eyeliner for a flash of glitz.
