The nuances of Rodrigo y Gabriela’s sound have never been the most straightforward thing for a guitar tech to get their head around–from Rodrigo’s tendency to throw effects at a classical instrument that wasn’t even designed to be amplified, to capturing the percussive nature of Gabriela’s playing, which requires a level of technological wizardry that is scarcely believable for one nylon-string instrument.
