DON’T FORGET PATUXENT
I am a volunteer at the Patuxent Research Refuge in Laurel, Maryland (home of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Center). I was very disappointed not to see mentioned in the article about Whooping Cranes (“A Cloudy Future,” September/October 2019 issue, p. 14) the importance of the PWRC in breeding Whoopers for release in the wild, which enabled the new eastern flocks to be established.
