FIFTH-WHEELER CONVERSION

I have been a subscriber to Caravan World for quite a few years and enjoy the magazine and the articles on different types of rigs, so decided to send in details of my creation.

I was looking for a small (20–23ft) fifth-wheeler but they all lacked headroom over the bed and we are past the stage of crawling into bed.

The search was on for a suitable caravan that required minimal alterations, and I found a 20ft offroad Roadstar Voyager with simple suspension and high ground clearance that would allow me to tow with a flat tray ute.

The chassis conversion was done professionally, while the bodywork and interior was done by myself with a truck nose cone used for the front, resulting in a length 21.5 ft.
