NEW MOON, NEW BEGINNINGS
Two New Moons bookmark either end of this month – there’s one on the 1st in Leo and the next on the 30th in Virgo. It’s the perfect environment for fresh starts. August begins with a sense of sunny optimism, but you may still be reeling from all the changes triggered by last month’s eclipse. Things begin to settle as Mercury and Jupiter are released from retrograde motion – but Uranus, which rules shocks and surprises, is now going backwards. Retrograde motions usually throw things up in the air, but in Uranus’ case, it can do the opposite and delay changes, giving you breathing space. In the later part of the month, you will see the gifts that Uranus can offer. By the close of the month, the Sun, Venus, Mars and Mercury will head out of Leo into Virgo, giving a completely different, more organised vibe.

Leos have a reputation for being crazy extroverts – but that’s not the whole story. The truth is, you’re naturally proud, very majestic and just a little aloof. Until your subjects have been let into the inner sanctum, they may not discover just how warm, generous and all-round gorgeous you truly are.
