MY ENTIRE LIFE, I have felt as if I’m under a microscope. For as long as I can remember, people have always felt it has been their right to comment openly about my appearance — and that imposes an enormous amount of pressure. It has been constant, from when I was tiny, right up to now, with the many online trolls a career in commentary seems to attract.
