Christmas fête fun

■ Dear HIW,

I created a ‘balloon pop’ stall at our Christmas fête last week. Basically kids pay 50p to pop a balloon, and if the raffle ticket number inside it is even, they win a prize – a magazine!

All 100 balloons were popped within an hour and I banked the PTA £50. That may not seem a lot to you, but to us it’s totally great, and all it cost us was the price of balloons! I even recall two dads popping balloons because they wanted a particular edition of
