When I was about eight, my best friend’s father worked for BMG. We weren’t that interested in music, but one day he brought us back The Blue Album and said, “You guys would probably like this.” We both became obsessed with it. I guess it was my first time understanding the concept of a rock band and thinking it was really cool, and also just loving the songs – they were so catchy to me. When I was in my early teens, my friends and I rediscovered the album, and then I found outexisted. “Wait, they have more music?” But The Blue Album was my gateway into a lot of other things.
