In 1969 at Le Mans, with my co-driver Richard Attwood, we had the lead in our 917 by over 50 miles. Everyone in the Porsche pit became optimistic. We were about three hours from the finish: Le Mans was ours to win and our dream was getting closer. Suddenly, Richard was forced to bring the car to a stop in front of the pits.
