BIRTHDAY SURPRISES

When planning a hunt, you need to take several things into consideration. When you will hunt, where it will take place, how much you will spend, and if you will hunt alone or with friends. Early in 2019 I decided to hunt in Namibia again after an absence of five years.

I started talking to some old hunting friends but in the end only my friend Vissie could join me. We normally hunt kudu on a friend’s farm on the Schwartz-rant near Maltahöhe in the south. Our plan was to hunt for four days, then drive up to the Etosha and spend five days there. After which we would return to Alfie’s farm, pick up the meat, biltong and droëwors before heading back home to the Western Cape.
