OFF-SEASON OFFENSIVE

At the end of any official motorsport season, the racing may stop but the grind never does. While the fans eagerly await the kick-off of the next incarnation, in the background, the drivers of the D1NZ National Drifting Championship are busy preparing their next campaign. In years gone by, these off-season stints have given birth to some of the wildest machinery to roll onto the start line, from small tweaks that make existing packages far more potent right through to completely new cars built in a short amount of time. While we typically get snippets of what’s going down across socials, and, if we’re lucky enough, spot the odd example out testing in secret, the first time that the majority catch wind of what’s been built is at round one.

So, to get a better idea of what you can expect to see, and get that hype for the upcoming season kicked off early, we’ve pulled back the curtain on a few sheds to see what a handful of drivers have in the works in both the Pro and Pro-Sport classes.
