Kendall River Guided Hunting
THE Cessna Caravan landed relatively smoothly and rumbled down the long-graded runway, the note of the engine changed to a high pitch whine as the pilot slowed the aircraft, announcing that we had in fact arrived at Kendall River Station.
We exited the doorway of the compact aircraft that double as the region’s mail plane. Appearing out of the bush, an old Toyota that had seen better days clattered and rattled its way along the bordering track that circles the entire length of the all-weather air strip.
At the wheel I could see the familiar face of my mate and owner/operator of Kendall River Hunting & Fishing Safaris, Jason Knack. We shook hands, helped the pilot unload my gear, other cargo and mail into the waiting truck.
