GRAND STYLE

Is your idea of beauty under sail a magnificent classic-styled yacht or a contemporary sharp-edged carbon charger? These competing ideals, and many others, can be tested out better at a superyacht regatta than almost any other place in sailing. They offer a panoply of owners’ tastes, expressions that are unfettered by any ordinary concept of value.

The designs that will line up for the Superyacht Cup Palma in June make it one of the most eclectic of sailing events. They will range from the striking 52m schooner , finessed to perfection for cruising and fun racing, to Swan 82 via the 30m spirit of tradition and modernistic yachts such as Baltic sloop and the glossy McKeon-designed 33m .
