rowing up in the picturesque Swiss town of Thun, Simona De Silvestro dreamed of becoming a racing driver. She’d watch the iconic Bathurst 1000 endurance race more than 16,000km away – little knowing that one day she would tackle Mount Panorama herself. The 30-year-old enjoyed a four-season stint in the US IndyCar Series and was part of the FIA Formula E Championship before making it to Bathurst in 2015.
