Just a few days into 2019, we found ourselves smack bang in the middle of a horror film. In mid-January, the body of 21-year-old student Aiia Maasarwe was found by passers-by near a tram stop in Bundoora, Melbourne. It came just after the death of Grace Millane, a 22-year-old British backpacker whose body was found in bushland in our neighbouring New Zealand in early December.
