BLUE MOUNTAINS
The much loved and revitalised Festival of Children’s Literature returns to the Norman Lindsay Gallery in Faulconbridge this September 15 and 16.
This renowned Festival will be proudly presented by Westwords, promoting diversity through literature in Greater Western Sydney, and The Norman Lindsay Gallery.
A highlight of the Blue Mountains calendar, the Festival promises to be better than ever and will be a great family-friendly weekend out for locals and visitors alike.
Children and adults will be able to enjoy talks from some of the country’s favourite authors and illustrators. Featured speakers will include Australian Children’s Laureate Morris Gleitzman, Libby Gleeson and Emily Rodda with many more to be announced.
DOG WASTE BAG
Blue Mountains City Council is working with the community to install dog waste dispenser bags in dog off-leash areas, sports grounds and parks, one of the key actions and recommendations of the Dogs in Public Spaces Strategic Plan (DIPS).
So far, 9 of the 14 designated dog off-leash areas have at least two dispensers installed as part of Council’s ‘adopt a dog waste bag dispenser’ program.
Each of the dog off-leash areas or parks have a local resident who ‘adopts’ the dispensers. The resident is typically a regular user of that park. The role of that resident is to ensure the dispensers are stocked with bags and to report any damage or issues with the dispensers to Council.
