The adventures of ALEX LaWTON

Auckland New Zealand

NUMBER OF TIMES TRAVELLED THERE: This was my first trip there and it definitely won’t be my last. NZ rules!

PURPOSE OF THIS TRIP: We were filming with the Australian Element team for nine days.

PARTNER IN CRIME: The whole squad in Auckland. Having all of your close friends on a trip and riding for the same company, it was a no-brainer that it was going to be one of the best trips. Everyone was bringing the good vibes, cold beers and a lot of laughs while exploring Auckland’s gems.

FAVOURITE MEAL: Fish ‘n’ chups, bro!

FAVOURITE BEER: Tui.

CULTURE SHOCK: Auckland wasn’t too much of a culture shock because I lived with Kayle [Lawson], Neihana [Tonkin] and [Jake] Darwen, who are all Kiwis, so I’ve seen how they act first-hand [laughs]. Auckland is a lot like Sydney. There’s a lot of water surrounding the city and it’s got a posh vibe to it.

MEANS OF TRANSPORT: We had a 10-seater van, so Bolts [Leigh Bolton] took charge and did most of the driving. We would switch around sometimes but he definitely held it down for us.

The trip was jam packed with good vibes. Darwen’s first photo exhibition; road tripping
