Flicking through wedding photos with my husband, Bill, I was filled with the most wonderful memories of our perfect day. ‘Look how happy we are,’ I said, pointing to a picture of us smiling outside the Old Mill Inn, Aberdeen, after exchanging our vows 12 years earlier. Yet, as Bill scrutinised each photo, I could see his mind was totally blank and then he looked at me with that same empty stare and I realised not only couldn’t he remember our wedding day, he had no idea I was the woman he married.
