I don’t know why I thought it was a good idea to leave Cape Town and come to Durban in mid-February. I’d like to blame the editor, but for once he’s not responsible. Nor am I, apparently. A responsible person would have stayed in the coolth of Kommetjie and not flown to the east coast at the one time of year when the municipality has to hoover up puddles of melted people at the end of every day.
