Stopping leaks on the Allard

I explained in my last Diary, I was disconnecting the offside battery in the floor by the brake and clutch pedals when my hand slipped onto the brake pedal, and to my horror the brake pedal went to the floor. I was disappointed about this as the wheel cylinders are all new. There was nothing for it but to open the master cylinder section in the floor. I took the cap off to find no fluid in the header tank, so after topping the fluid up and placing a milk bottle by the master cylinder outlet shaft seal, I left it overnight. In
