More Two-Handed Soloing Ideas

Dividing up phrases and runs between both hands can make them easier to play smoothly, and can lead you to play ideas that are difficult to execute one-handed.

Two Is Better Than One

Last month we explored two-handed riffs to be used as highpoints. Chick has mastered this technique, and can be seen using it often in his playing. But his approach tends to be from an advanced jazz perspective, and he often uses it when he wants to stray from the key center, playing more “out”. Let’s take the concept and apply it to more “inside” harmonic ideas so use it in more music styles.
