10 TIPS FOR DIY SUCCESS

DIY is only scary in the way a rubbish horror film is scary: the anticipation can be nailbiting, but the actual event is never that bad. My favourite DIY phrase, oft repeated in our workshops and on our how-to days, is: ‘You’ll never know, if you don’t have a go’. It’s possible that you’re the world’s best wallpaperer, but until you open up a roll and paste it up, your skill will always be hidden under a brushel. Sorry, bushel. I’ve got brushes on the brain, quite rightly for a builder.

A can-do attitude may be your most important tool, but if you want to make sure you avoid the common mistakes, then a little bit of knowledge is a close second. Accordingly, here are 10 of my tops tips for beginners.
