Avoid Kickback
Every woodworker fears being cut by their table saw. We know we must stay alert whenever the saw is on. We would never put our hand in the path of the blade.
But while it is possible for a distracted woodworker to inadvertently push his hand into a spinning saw blade, amputations and injuries are more commonly caused by the workpiece pulling your hand into the danger zone through a process known as kickback. Table saw kickback may also eject a workpiece from the saw with tremendous bone-breaking force.
