KEEPING UP WITH KIRSTY

For Kirsty Gallacher, two things are “absolutely essential” for her health: “Staying positive and active.” Mum to Oscar, 13, and ten-year-old Jude, the TV presenter says keeping fit during the current crisis is a family affair. “My sons are involved, we’ve been running and doing a walk every day as well as exercise sessions and football outside. They’re not short of exercise, that’s for sure”.

Kirsty, 44, follows a skincare regime just as diligent as her fitness schedule, and has become an ambassador for Ultherapy, a noninvasive skin lifting and tightening treatment.

“It fits perfectly with my lifestyle,” says Kirsty, who talks exclusively to HELLO! about the benefits of exercise in her life, eating well and how it’s hard to relax when you’re a self-confessed “fidget”.

Kirsty, how do you stay in shape?

“I love weight training with my trainer Mel– if you hadn’t asked me I probably would have put it off for another five years. I haven’t really got the headspace for endurance; I don’t know if that overrides my body, but plodding for ages doesn’t really thrill me, even though I’ve been running quite a lot in lockdown. I like exercise to be exciting, short, sharp – to feel it straight away. I love sprint training, too and I’ve been following some HIIT training on Instagram.”
