We are nature. Nature is us. We often forget this. So when we begin losing the connection with nature, we begin losing the connection with ourselves. There is always a shift in our state of mind whenever we are in natural surroundings, be it mountains, beaches, waterfalls or simply the countryside, complete with a farm and animals. While children, are almost always, in this peaceful yet excited state of mind, for most adults, this state needs to be invoked. Hence, the term ‘childlike’ is used.

Children are pure, and their minds unblemished from the nuances of adult life and that of modern-day living. We live in a fast paced world, determined on moving all of us away from nature. Many see that as a small price to pay for a progressive lifestyle that warrants convenience. Malls, movies, mobile phones, video games, television and toys are the output of the “convenience” philosophy.
