DESERT DEFENDERS WINTER WOOLIES TRIBUTE

The Desert Defenders Off Road Club was formed by three families from the greater Ohakune area specifically to run the hugely popular Winter Woolies 4WD Safari events.

These were held annually in the Ohakune/ Waiouru area incorporating access to the Waiouru Army training ground in winter (hence the requirement for your ‘winter woolies.’) However the team behind the event have finally called it a day citing among other things “family and work commitments making it increasingly time consuming
