How to make the ULTIMATE BURGER
THE ULTIMATE BURGER

Makes: 4 mega burgers (or 6 medium-sized)

What you’ll need:
FOR THE CARAMELISED ONIONS
• 3 tbsp vegetable oil
• 3 red onions, sliced
• 1 tbsp brown sugar
• 1 tsp balsamic vinegar
FOR THE PATTIES
• 1 kg beef mince
• ½ cup raw oats
• 2 eggs, beaten
• ½ onion, finely chopped
• 2 cloves garlic, minced
• 1 tbsp Worcester sauce
• 1 tsp mixed dried herbs
• ½ tsp paprika
• ¼ tsp cayenne pepper
• 6 slices cheese
TO SERVE
• 1 tbsp sriracha sauce
• ½ cup mayonnaise
• 6 hamburger rolls, cut in half and toasted
• 2 baby gem lettuce, leaves picked
• ½ cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and sliced
• 6 pickles, sliced
• 2 red chillies, sliced
STEPS TO SUCCESS
1 For the caramelised heat the oil over low heat and fry the onions until golden and caramelised, for about 20 minutes. Add the sugar and balsamic vinegar, and cook while stirring for another 5 minutes.
