Vicar’s clothes stolen
The reports that some “bands” and other items of clothing belonging to the Reverend Walker of Millport disappeared after being left to bleach on the green at the back of his house. A search proved unsuccessful until the minister spotted some material in a hedge: “On making a closer examination the missing ‘bands’ – six or seven in number… were discovered compactly built into a bird’s nest.”
