last month’s column, I talked about the early days of the online community and how we used photo hosting site Flickr to congregate in groups and swap mini quilts. Technology moves on quickly, and soon, Flickr fell out of favour with the cool quilters. For a while, Twitter was the next big thing, but it always seemed too ‘shouty’ for me. Pinterest started around this time too. Originally a bookmarking organisation tool, this also grew to be a place you could grow your profile, followers and influence. Others began using Facebook for more than just keeping in touch with family friends, and many still thriving quilting groups were formed there. I have to say that I have never bonded well with Twitter
