The latest data from Statis SA show that Gauteng, which this week surpassed the Western Cape as the epicentre of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, has recorded the largest inflow of migrants, with 1.55 million people settling in the 18 1001 square kilometre region between 2016 and this year.
