Working in ICU is special. There’s a holistic approach that allows you to give a high level of care and become involved with the whole family, which I really appreciate. I don’t shy away from pain of any sort. I just try to find a way to make my patient more comfortable. Sometimes all they need is for you to sit with them and give them your time. I’ve worked in other areas, but I always migrate back to ICU – it’s where my heart lies.
