Love, Actually!

AS lifelong and passionate Range Rover enthusiasts, we’re all keen to kick off the 50th birthday celebrations as early in the year as possible. That’s why we’ve braved the pre-dawn start, the sub-zero temperatures, the thick fog and the rush hour traffic to get ourselves from all four points of the compass to Luton Hoo, home of Land Rover Experience London.

Snapper Alisdair Cusick is joining us for the day to work his magic and ensure we have some memorable photos for the file. He’s also a Range Rover obsessive and his 1994 classic appears regularly in the pages of LRM. Sadly, it’s not here today and Alisdair explains that he has an ignition problem that is proving difficult to fix. He doesn’t trust the car to get him to such an important photoshoot on time.

Instead Philip Cook has brought his immaculately-restored 1993 LSE Autobiography while Will Meacham has come in his totally original 1990 Vogue Efi. I’ve driven up from Hampshire in my equally original 1994 300Tdi, which is by far and away the tattiest vehicle here. And esteemed Editor Patrick has borrowed a brand-new Range Rover P400e from JLR for the day, given that he hasn’t yet joined the exclusive band
