Sitting nervously in my GP’s office, I twiddled my thumbs and waited for my results.
It was 2007, and I was 20 years old, but ever since I was a teenager, I knew something wasn’t right.
I had extremely irregular periods and suffered from excessive hair growth.
And no matter how hard I tried to lose weight, I’d ballooned to a massive 17st.
I’d got married to a lovely man called Anthony, then 24, that year, and we were keen to start a family.
But I had this feeling that something was wrong. My doctor sat down and calmly broke the news.
‘You have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome,’ she explained.
