Recollections of Admiral S.N. Timirev

Rear Admiral S.N. Timirev (1875-1932), son of a naval officer, was educated at the Russian Naval College, St Petersburg and served in the Russian navy for 23 years, participating in both the Russo-Japanese War and World War I. He received several awards for courage, including the St George Gilded Sword of Honour. He was promoted to Rear Admiral for distinction in the last major engagement of the Russian Baltic Fleet, the battle of Moon Sound
