Tomatoes are among the most popular and rewarding crops in the summer vegetable garden. While all fruit and vegetables taste better picked fresh from the garden, when it comes to homegrown flavour, tomatoes are in a class of their own.

As well as tasting good, tomatoes are packed with vitamins and healthgiving antioxidants. Tomatoes provide lycopene, an antioxidant found in red fruit, along with vitamins A and C and carotene as well as a good amount of dietary fibre. These are all very good reasons to grow your own.
