TERROR IN THE WOODS

Jack Gershman’s older brother Evan was the outdoorsy one in the family, the kid who typically did the mountain biking and snowboarding with their dad, Ari. Trivia was more Jack’s thing – indulging Ari when he’d sit down to family dinners and ask, “Who’s going to stump me tonight?”

But when Ari brought home a red 2013 Jeep Rubicon on July 2 and proposed some father-son off-roading in Tahoe National Forest, a four-hour drive from their Danville, California, home, it was Jack, 15, who jumped up to go. “Jack’s been the best at staying home, staying safe during this whole pandemic,” says his mum, Paige. “I think he was just ready to get out of the house.”
