HYBRID TEAM PLAYS THE RIGHT TUNE IN CITROEN SHOWDOWN

The Hybrid Tune trio of Stephen James, Ben Simonds and David Meenan were in contention for the victory spoils from start of the three-hour Citroen C1 Challenge race.

As part of an early three-car break, James was second at the end of the first hour, before Simonds and Meenan brought them to the fore. James then returned to take victory, by 90 seconds over Baycon Racing’s Sandro and Oscar Proietti.

Alate stop-go penalty robbed Old Hat’s Callum Hutchings/ Daniel Bruce of a podium finish when Made Rabbitt’sAlex Day and RobAustin pipped them with a lap to go.

Former British Touring Car Championship racer Jeff Smith clinched the Mini Seven crown after title rival Spencer Wanstall was forced to retire from the first of three races with alternator problems.
