The COVID-19 pandemic has seen the transfer market shift in keeping with the revised season, providing limited hope for pros racing under the burden of an uncertain future.

Many “good” cyclists still don’t have contracts for 2021 in what is now a teams’ market. According to rider agents, the future of the NTT team stands to influence movements for spots left on squads that aren’t already full. Altus Sports Management director Gary McQuaid estimated that up to 70 riders competing at the Binckbank Tour earlier last month were out of contract.
