Who can recall the opening of Disneyland in Anaheim, Calif.? As a child I would watch “The Mickey Mouse Club” on TV and could only dream of ever going there; as a boy in a family of eight from Wisconsin it was financially out of reach and beyond a distance we could travel.
When the park first opened to the public on July 18, 1955, there was a main gate admission price of $1 for adults and 50 cents for children; each ride or attraction cost between 10 cents and 35 cents in cash.
