These young upwardly mobile professionals, with their rampant consumerism and overt materialistic attitude, were thought to be a product of Thatcher’s Britain, and quickly became a bête noire for some.
Margaret Thatcher was considered a strong leader, and many felt this was precisely what the country needed as they thought it was on its knees.
Others opined that she did more to fuel the class war and marginalise vulnerable groups than any other post-war Prime Minister.
