Most Eagle Scouts get to do really cool things, like backpacking, rock climbing and whitewater rafting. A few even get to do really, really cool things, like going on scientific expeditions that unlock secrets of biology, paleoanthropology and other sciences.
Since 2012, the National Eagle Scout Association and The Explorers Club — an organization that promotes the scientific exploration of land, sea, air and space — have teamed up to send dozens of college-aged Eagle Scouts on trips like those.
